1 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

MFM Devotional For Today MESSAGE:
Goodness is one of the nine components of the fruit of the Spirit. It is an act of being good and doing good. It involves righteous acts borne out of a good and godly personality. It is the character and nature of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Psalm 119:68 says, “Thou art good, and doest good, teach me thy statutes.”
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, was anointed by God and He went about doing good. Although He Himself said no one is good except God the Father (Mark 10:18), yet as Christians we are expected to take on the Father’s attributes. We should be people that exude goodness to our fellow men, believers and unbelievers alike. My question to you beloved in Christ is: do you think and do good to your fellow men? Do you repay evil with good or you do a tit for tat? Romans 12:21 counsels us to overcome evil with good. This is the mark of those who are for Christ.
Remember that you are not doing good in order to receive praise, gift or accolades. Rather, you are doing good because it pays to do good. Above all it is a divine command. The children of darkness resemble their father, the devil (John 8:44). If you are Christ’s, you must, in every way, think and behave like Him (Philippians 2:5). Galatians 6:7 tells us that whatever a man sows, the same he will reap. God cannot be mocked. We are encouraged to do good, especially to those that are of the family of God. Without mincing words, take a firm decision today to become more like Jesus. Covet that seed of the fruit of the Spirit called Goodness. Think good and act good! You will affect the world positively and win more souls to expand the Kingdom of God, not only in word but also in deed.
