WONDERS OF FAITH (Part 14)

Yesterday, we dealt in detail with redemption from sin as an anchor of faith.

Today, we shall go to the next one in line;2. Redemption from sickness and disease.When you know what price Christ has paid to rescue us from sickness and disease, just as He had done to save us from our sins, then to release our faith to it will be a natural thing.

The prophet Isaiah prophesied about the Messiah perhaps more than any other prophet in the Bible. He lived and prophesied more than seven hundred years before Jesus Christ was born. He prophesied about His birth, His ministerial work, His crucifixion, His death, His burial, His resurrection, His ascension to heaven, and His coming Kingdom at the millennium, and above all, His redemptive works as contained in Isaiah chapter 53.

A careful reading of this chapter will reveal to you that the price of the atonement for sin and sickness are both written, so to say, on the same spiritual checkbook.

The word says, "Surely He hath borne our griefs, (Heb; sickness) and carried our sorrows (Heb; pains) yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with His STRIPES, we are healed." (Isaiah 53:4,5). We can see the prophecies of what the Lord would have to pass through for our redemption from sins and sickness.

The word says, "He hath borne our griefs (or sickness), and carried out sorrow, (or pains). This is good news to all the sick brethren that Christ hath BORNE all our sicknesses" and "CARRIED all our pains" on Himself but by what means? by His STRIPES! You remember, before He was crucified by Pilate, how He was given 39 stripes or blows.

Unbearable pains were inflicted on Him because of these stripes. He was so beaten that "His visage was marred more than any man" (Isaiah 52;14).

All these, He went through to redeem us from our sickness and pains. He took our pain and sickness upon Himself. This is a great anchor of faith for our healing and divine health.

This has been the story of my life for more than 40 years.

Over the years, I have contended with sickness and disease to secure my health. Sometimes, I am amazed and disturbed when I see the health challenges many believers go through due to ignorance of their divine healing and health birthright in Christ Jesus or share negligence.

But, the same people are so committed to taking their medications and herbal medicines. Most times, whenever there are minister's conferences, many times are given to health talks, but most, unfortunately, there will be no mention of divine healing talks. God and Christ's atonement for our sickness have been pushed aside.

This is most unfortunate! "Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no Physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?" (Jer 8:22).

Yes, there is a healing balm flowing from Calvary to heal ALL sicknesses and diseases for those who care to believe and trust in Christ's atonement for their healing.

No cancer or tumor can stand Calvary! No pain or sickness can resist the atonement of Christ. The word says, "He TOOK our infirmities and BARE our sicknesses" (Matt 8:17).

The truth is that if we really and actually and wholeheartedly BELIEVE that He TOOK, then you will be a liar to say that you still have what He took.

Friends, this is one reason why I refuse to be sick. Hypertension, high blood pressure, sugar diabetes, ulcers- they are no match for redemption! DIVINE HEALING AND HEALTH IS YOUR BIRTHRIGHT !!
