Faith DigestToday again, let us further explore more about redemption from sicknesses and diseases. As I said yesterday that if believers could have a deep understanding of redemption from sickness, they shall live sickness-free life.
Yesterday, we have studied from the book of Isaiah 53, how the prophet Isaiah had prophesied about how Christ would atone for both our sins and our sicknesses at the same time. He came to fulfill the prophecy as He atoned for our sins by blood and atoned for our sicknesses by His body that was broken for us by His stripes. But I still want to further show more revelation from the same passage in Isaiah 53. It says, " Yet it Pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief" (Isaiah 53:10). The word "grief," as it appears here and also in verse 4, is from the Hebrew word "choliey" which should have been translated sickness or pains.
So, from the passage above, the word says that God did put Christ to grief (pain or sickness) by His stripes. Jesus was inflicted with much pains from the beating and stripes laid on Him by the Roman soldiers. It is said that the Romans had employed this kind of punishment to criminals whom they had given capital punishment, as the most cruel means of punishment ever employed.
The criminals would be stripped naked and whipped with hard animal skin with not fewer than 12 cords on the head side of the whip, where sharpened and dangerous objects such as pieces of iron, broken bottles, and bones were hung on each of its 12 heads.
The criminals would then be beaten with it on his bare body with heavy blows by hefty Roman soldiers. As they beat, these sharp and dangerous objects would sink into their bodies, and as they pulled, these objects would tear open their flesh. This is what they did to Jesus.
They gave Him 39 of such blows until His skins were peeled off and flesh chopped out. His body was bruised and broken. Oh, you could only imagine pains and agony meted on Him.
Friends, there is not cancer or tumor or any sickness that could be as painful. He took everything. He took every cancer, sugar, diabetes, tumor, every sickness, and disease; therefore, I refuse to be sick. Amen.
At the end beating He had lost much blood to the extent that He could no longer carry His cross. He fell under the cross because of the severity of the pain of your sickness He carried. This all happened by the foreknowledge and the will of the Father for Him to BEAR our sicknesses and to CARRY our pains on His body for us. If He truly took our pains and sicknesses on His own body, it is legally impossible for two people to bear the same punishment for a single offence.
Look into your body right now; is there any sickness oppressing and tormenting your body? then, look at the cross where Jesus nailed both our sins and sicknesses and shout with boldness, saying, "Jesus took; therefore, I refuse to take it.
Therefore, your sickness comes out of my body in Jesus' name". Then, walk out of it by faith, by ignoring the pains and the symptoms. Begin to go about the normal duties you are supposed to be doing.
