FAITH DIGEST

WONDERS OF FAITH (Part 7)

Yesterday, we began to look at the LAWS OF FAITH. We said that there are laws that govern faith and make faith to work.

We also said that faith, like love, must be expressed in its terms before it can produce any result. There are always things to do and say for faith to work. The first law we considered yesterday is that there must be ACTION of faith to show.

That is, faith must be expressed in our actions or, better still, in our act of obedience to show that we believe.

Today, I want to show you the second law of faith that is equally important as faith action.

The second law of faith is our positive CONFESSION.

While the first law is about acting what the word of God says about our situation, the second is about confessing God's word.

While the first law is about doing it, the second law is about saying it.

Sometimes, the situation may call for more than our actions or may not require our actions but our confessions.

Like the illustration I gave yesterday about love as a type of faith and that they have to be expressed in the same way. You will agree with me that one of the ways to express our love to our spouse is by our words. In the same way, we can show our faith by our words in line with the words of God.

Do you remember that I said in one of our past episodes in Genesis chapter one that even God could only release His creative power by His spoken words?

About 10 times in that chapter one, the Bible says, "And God said". In Romans 10:8-10, Paul emphasized that the words of faith must not only be in your heart but must be "in thy mouth" (Vs 8), "shall confess with thy mouth" (Vs 9), "with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Vs 10).

Results are only produced when our actions are back with our positive confession. The Bible says, "death and life are in the power of the tongue" (Proverbs 18:21).

Jesus, Himself said, "For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words, thou shall be condemned" (Matthew 12:37).

Brethren, if truly we believe it, we will confess it before we see it done.

The fact that we are afraid or timid to confess what the word of God says about our situation is proof that we don't really believe. God said through the prophet Joel, "Let the weak SAY I am strong" (Joel 3:10).

He didn't say, let the weak think or let the weak wish I am strong but let him confess what God says about him in His words.

Friends, there are so many scriptures we can pray in and begin to confess until they are fulfilled in our lives.

Read and meditate on these scriptures, Hebrews 10:23; Mark 11:23,24
